TPA QUIZ 2017
Held on Saturday 5th March 2017
On Saturday 5th March the Trinity Concert Hall was filled with over 320 eager participants for the TPA annual quiz. The winners by only 1 point were 'Spartacus' just ahead of the imaginatively named 'Table 35'. Congratulations go to all teams for their participation, enthusiasm and generosity on the night.
Holroyd Howe, the school chefs, served a delicious supper and Sixth Form pupils including Trinity Hope4Malawi Boys & Girls, were perfect quiz runners and waiters looking after our guests throughout the evening.
We would like to thank everyone who helped make the evening a success raising over £2,000 for this year’s chosen charity, The Breck Foundation, and a special thank you to those who generously donated prizes for the raffle.
TPA MARDI GRAS BALL
Held on Saturday 12th November 2016
Our Concert Hall was transformed into a colourful Mardi Gras Ballroom for an evening of great music, and lots of fun and dancing for 300 guests last term. With delicious food, provided by our school catering partners Holroyd Howe, dancing girls and a juggler, and a very successful raffle and silent auction, the evening was a night to be proud of.
The TPA would like to thank all the parents, staff, and pupils who supported the event, which raised over £5,000 for this year’s charity, The Breck Foundation.
TPA Chair, Nicola Wyllie, said: “It was such a lovely evening to be a part of and made us all on the TPA proud to be part of the Trinity Community.”
One parent said, "Well done to all of you for such an amazing ball - the atmosphere was superb", whilst one of the silent auction winners said, "We really had a lovely time at the ball and are very much looking forward to our weekend away. Many thanks to the whole TPA committee for giving us such a great evening."
TRINITY PROMS 2016
Held on Saturday 9th July 2016
On July 9th, more than 1,500 members of the Trinity Community - parents, pupils, staff, governors and friends - gathered for the annual Trinity Proms, to celebrate the end of the school year and 50 years of Trinity School being at Shirley Park. The audience was treated to a wonderful evening of music, including Trinity’s Big Band, a Super Big Band which included many former pupils, and All the King’s Men, an award-winning a cappella act.
In a moving presentation cheques totalling the amazing sum of £16,000, raised by the TPA in 2015-16, were presented. The outgoing Headmaster, Mark Bishop, presented a cheque for £10,000 to the parents of Daniel Spargo-Mabbs, in aid of the foundation that they set up in Daniel’s name to raise awareness about drugs. Donations were also made to the Trinity Malawi Project (£4,500) and the School bursary fund (£1,500).
The Proms also offered the opportunity for parents to say thank you to the outgoing Headmaster, Mark Bishop. He was presented with several gifts and treated to an ‘Ode to Mark Bishop’ which saw the audience join pupils in a light-hearted tribute to Mr Bishop’s achievements at the school. The TPA presented the retiring Mr Brookman with a hamper to thank him for his contributions to the Committee and its fundraising over many years.
Proms ended with the national anthem and a fantastic fireworks finale, fired to
the sound of Pomp and Circumstance.
